Hiroshima & Nagasaki Nuclear Bombs

Hiroshima bomb, Little Boy

On this day in 1945, the second nuclear bomb "Fat Boy" hit Nagasaki, Japan. Three days before, Hiroshima was hit with "Little Boy" and the number of casualties for both was said to have been between 129,000 – 246,000 Japanese soldiers and civilians.

Half died at the same time the bombs hit and the other half died after unbearable pain and suffering due to injuries.

Nagaskai bomb, Fat Boy

To this day, I cannot believe that people could harm this much, I mean there are still on-going wars happening but to dispose of people in this manner is cold-blooded. Like these people were nothing and meant nothing. Like they were guinea pigs they used for their sick sick experiments.

A few years ago I bought a book called "Hiroshima" by Andrew J. Rotter but hadn't found enough time to read. I think after finishing what I need for the bookclub, I'll start reading that and maybe talk about the people behind these monstrosities.

  1. This is sad. My throat still hurts whenever I think of this subject.
It’s unbelievable how cruel people can be, it’s absolutely disgusting shocking!
But I’m even more shocked that two Nuclear Bombs killed less people than Stalin did...he was a barbarian!

    1. The population in Hiroshima at the time was over 300,000 and in Nagasaki over 200,000 so their populations were almost cut in half.
You're right though, Stalin is the worst barbarian on the planet!
