1. Arsenic & Mint Lace
my beauty & style challenge

About The Challenge:
This challenge will combine classic film with fashion and personal style.

Behind The Name:
In the victorian era, women were subjected to many kinds of lethal and highly dangerous ways to beautify themselves. One of them was consuming Arsenic (a chemical element with metal properties).

As this challenge is associated with beauty - and I love 19th century junk - I decided to use it.

I went with one of my very favourite classic films, "Arsenic and Old Lace", 1944.
Now I wanted to find a way to add mint into the mix, so it can mesh well with my blog name.So I put mint instead of old. This can mean an antique delicate garment in mint condition, which refers to the style part of this section.

2. Mint Fire
my behind the scenes challenge

About The Challenge:
This challenge has everything to do with your favourite classic films and what goes on behind the scenes from directing, producing to song writing and backdrops.

Behind The Name:
Blue fire is a victorian term used to describe special effects in the theatre. In those days, in order to create a glow on stage, they would use a mixture with sulfur and ignite it. This in turn would give off blue smoke, which astonished audiences at the time. Later on, the term came to be used to describe anything equally amazing or sensational.

I used mint, naturally, because I love it, but also because it can be an element for creativeness and balance in a film, which correlates with the subject of this challenge.

3. Mint Screen
my film & television stars challenge

About The Challenge:
This challenge has everything to do with your favourite stars and their best qualities.

Behind The Name:

I wanted a name that sounded like a film review magazine from the 1950s and noticed that most film-related magazines at the time used "screen" in their names; like Movie Screen, Modern Screen, Silver Screen, Screen Album, Screen Book, Screenland among others, so I decided on Mint Screen.

I used mint for obvious reasons but metaphorically speaking, it is the colour of honesty. Therefore, and without any bias, you should give your most honest answers!
