Black Cat Day
Today’s Black Cat Day because a black cat’s the only cat who knows where it’s at!
To celebrate, I compiled a few photographs of black cat casting call for the Edgar Allen Poe adaptation; Tales of Terror, 1962, starring Vincent Price and Peter Lorre.

There were 152 cats auditioning for the film in 1961. Many black cats who weren't fully black were immediately disqualified. The strange thing was seeing a picture of a woman with a white cat auditioning hahaha she just didn't want to get it I guess, or maybe her cat had an exceptional acting ability hahaha.
The actual "lead" cat was already chosen, he apparently was a famous cat hehe. Those auditioning were only extras...poor cats.
Why is there a photograph of a woman about to slap her cat? Hahaha!!!
ReplyDeleteAll this casting for an EXTRA?! This is beyond bizarre. It feels like an overly exaggerated scene from a bad comedy hehe.
Why are they auditioning them if they know where it’s at, just like you said!
Hahahaha yes that’s one of my favourites. Her cat probably said a sarcastic joke so she said “oh you, stop” and did the air slap thing going on. Also she was trying to show the other cat owners how close she is with her cat.
DeleteYes hahahah it’s insane!
HAHAHHAHAHAHA exactly
