Review: The phrase 'Storm in a teacup' refers to a trivial matter that has been exaggerated and taken out of proportion.

This is pretty much the storyline of the film, where a small case of a poor lady, not paying for a dog license, ruins a politician's career.

I watched this film for the love of Rex and Vivien. I found Rex as impertinent as he always is in all his roles. I loved all his smart alec-y remarks.

Vivien looked stunning as usual and the role of a rich girl always suited her perfectly - like Elizabeth Taylor.

I loved Sara Allgood, she was hilarious, especially when she visited Rex in jail!

Although the film seems very amusing, there is a very serious meaning behind it. It touch upon the subject of greed and oppression by the government and the constant search for justice by the governed.

This film wasn't what I had anticipated, yet it was very entertaining and fun to watch. So if you're in quite a silly mood and don't mind some slapstick comedy, I recommend you watch this film.

P.S Unfortunately I couldn't find any meaningful trivia or behind the scenes photographs because it's a British film - they're usually harder to find any information on.

  1. This sure was fun to watch but I did feel it was a bit too long for this kind of film. But I didn’t mind that much since Rex Harrison and Vivien Leigh started in it.
The Jail part was definitely the best scene...it makes me laugh that thinking about it.
