Pearly Whites

By Wallace Kirkland
A long long time ago, I tried out a recipe to make my teeth look white and I'd like to share it with you today, because I feel it had made a big difference.
I actually tried quite a few ways. Some worked and some were really bad, but I'll still include all of them in my post.
I've known about the benefits of using Charcoal to whiten teeth ever since I was a child, through my mother. My mother actually taught my sisters and I, a lot of old-fashioned homemade masks, scrubs and remedies. I still use most of them to this day.
The use of activated Charcoal for teeth whitening dates back centuries and it's benefits are nothing new. It is a much healthier and consistent way, than the use of harsh chemicals that could have bad long term effects for your enamel.
Charcoal is also great because it not only removes stains and plaque, but gives you fresh breath all the while.

I recommend using it with Coconut Oil because you can double your benefits, plus it's less harsh for the gums. Make sure not to brush aggressively though.
Actually never brush aggressively, because it can be damaging to your oral health, in the long run.
I recently watched a video on Instagram with a complicated mixture:
- Coconut Oil
- Baking Soda
- Charcoal
- Lemon Juice
- Tooth Paste
This mixture made my gums bleed, and it was a torture to brush my teeth after that, for around a week. I should've known better when I saw the list. I believe mixing too many ingredients is just silly, especially that it doesn't give all the components the chance to work their magic. The person who posted it probably just combined all the healthy ingredients they read that could benefit the teeth, into one recipe and hoped it might work.
It actually did make my teeth whiter, but at the cost of my health.
The one I recommend the most, consists of ingredients that are easily accessible and can be found in any supermarket:
- Baking Soda
- Coconut Oil
Baking Soda removes plaque and whitens the teeth while Coconut Oil does both and kills bacteria at the same time. It protects the gums too. I used to do this twice a week - or more - and I benefitted a lot from it.
Summer made me a little lazy, so I stopped doing all my homemade beautifying junk, but I'll startover this week, because I just don't feel like myself when I don't bother with myself hehe. Plus it's been a long summer, so you don't want to know what this neglect had done to my face hahahha
I also feel coconut oil and baking soda are the best...I’ve seen more difference in my teeth than anything homemade I’ve tried. I need to do it throughout the week, because my teeth need to look extra white for this weekend.
ReplyDeleteYes me too, but I read that it isn't good to do daily. Besides, I remember when I used to do it every two days and it was fine. I think two to three days a week is enough.
DeleteOh I never tried this recipe before will def try it ..
ReplyDeleteGreat! I hope it works for you as it did for me.
